Auditions

Always wanted to ‘tread the boards’ among the ‘the cloud-capp’d towers, the gorgeous palaces, the solemn temples, and the great globe itself’…?

We have two types of auditions – for our internal Acting Company, and for individual Productions that we’re putting on throughout our three seasons a year.

To become part of the Acting Company and be eligible to audition for our shows you will first need to join as a Friend of the Tower Theatre. Then you will need to pass a Company Audition, which consists of performing two short contrasting pieces of your own choice. Auditions are held roughly every four weeks, normally on a weekends or weekday evenings – for further details and to book a place watch the Tower’s calendar for Company audition dates (below), and if you have any other questions, contact our auditions co-ordinator, Peter Westbury.

If you’re successful, we’ll ask you to upgrade your subscription from a Friend to a Member (paying the difference between the two tiers), and welcome you trying out for anything you like over the next twelve months.

We produce up to 18 shows a year so there are plenty of performing opportunities. Each production holds separate auditions and members are notified of casting dates and information here on the website, and via the weekly newsletter, Noises Off.

Occasionally, we also host ‘Open’ auditions for our Friends, Acting Company, and anyone from the general public interested in the show and looking to join the Tower onstage. Those specific events will be listed as ‘Open’ in announcements, online, and in Noises Off.
