Catherine Thomas is an independent puppeteer and puppet-maker, based in Manor House in North London. She specialised in puppetry
two years ago, having previously trained as an sculptor and engineer, and since then she has been mastering the art of making and
manipulating puppets - from traditionally carved wooden marionettes to characters fashioned from everyday objects - and has benefited
from working alongside and learning from many established experts from the puppetry world. In August last year she was selected to perform as
a long-string marionettist at The Little Angel Theatre in their 50th anniversary production of The Wild Night of the Witches,
which was a wonderful opportunity to further hone her ability to bring marionettes to life. Earlier in 2011, she appeared in
Buxton Puppetry Festival in Babbling Gossips, a show based around four of Shakespeare’s lesser-known heroines, for which she
made and operated a Rajasthani-style marionette of Blanch from The Life and Death of King John. Catherine regularly
