One-off events in addition to our main programme of performances of plays

The Tower Theatre has several social events in the pipeline for its Members, Friends, audiences and the community.
These events include rehearsed readings, informal social gatherings, Q&A sessions with playwrights and experts, quiz nights as well as workshops on directing, acting, movement and design.
Coming up are:

Sunday 26 July at 7pm
A Rehearsed Reading of The Habits
by Jack Bradfield. Directed by Zane Fleming.
Maryn an overworked trainee solicitor, Milo a reluctant job seeker who thinks the world’s against him and Jess a struggling Highschool student are not your typical friend group, but every Thursday night they meet at Dennis’s boardgame Café “Warboar” in an ongoing Dungeons & Dragons campaign to defeat The Nightmare King.

Sunday 9 August at 3.30pm
Sunday Sing
Come along and sing some songs from the shows in the second session of this friendly, no-pressure informal ensemble singing workshop led by Sorrel Brown and Vahan Salorian (the team behind Rapunzel).
It’s free to sign up and take part in and is open to all Friends and Members of all levels of singing experience. You do not need to audition, read music, or have done any singing before – it’s all about having fun!
The bar will be open afterwards!
If you have any questions, please contact Sorrel Brown.

Directors’ Workshops
Two more workshops are planned for the autumn:
Sunday 4 October – Producing and Paperwork with Rob Ellis
Sunday 15 November – Warming up and using improvisation in rehearsals with Jonathan Reed
Do you fancy creating – or helping to create – a future event at the Tower Theatre?
We’re talking rehearsed readings, improv nights, comedy, gig nights, poetry nights…. Anything that brings people together and shows what a vibrant and creative community we are. If you have an idea of something you want to do, or if you want to help someone else create a brilliant event, then contact us at [email protected] to share your thoughts!
