Colin Guthrie

Q LAB FOR SOUND

With Colin Guthrie

Sunday 28th July from 11.00 to 2.00

This will be a practical workshop on putting together a Sound plot for a show and will look at all the stages involved in getting raw sound effects and music ready for a production. Q Lab is a very powerful system, but is very easy to operate - the aim of the course is to give designers confidence in exploring some of the many possibilities the system offers and will also look at 'best practice' in preparing sound for performance. The course is primarily intended for sound designers, but operators and directors who want to find out more about Q Lab will be very welcome.

Colin Guthrie is a long-standing Tower member, and, as well as acting, directing and musical directing, he has been Sound Designer on numerous Tower shows including Brontë, Kindertransport and The Habit of Art. He also worked for BBC Radio Drama for many years as a Sound Engineer and Producer, working on countless productions including Bomber, Ulysses, Our Mutual Friend and Lord of the Flies.

This workshop will take place in Rehearsal Room 3 at the Tower Theatre, 16 Northwold Road, Stoke Newington, London, N16 7HR.

How to Book : Please contact Angharad Ormond to reserve a place.

Price : Free for Tower Company Members or Friends of the Tower
