Tower Theatre Workshops

Our workshops are aimed at directors, actors, designers or anyone with an interest in theatre. We aim to offer a space for the sharing of skills and ideas in a safe and creative atmosphere. Whether you've got years of experience or are a newbie who wants to learn more about different aspects of the theatre check out our programme of workshops. We cover a range of topics across the year.

Victor Craven

PLAYING SAFE

Facilitated by Victor Craven

Saturday 22nd June from 10.00 to 2.00

The rehearsal space should be a place of safety where all participants feel free to express their ideas.

In this workshop, actors and directors will share the studio space to experiment and play with ideas whilst rehearsing text based scenes.

Group feedback to both actors and directors will be encouraged by all, with an emphasis on all ideas being valid, and that nothing suggested can be considered wrong. The aim is to create an environment where the very nature of rehearsing a scene can be explored and for participants to learn from each other by having the freedom to try anything that comes to mind.

This workshop is designed for directors and actors, but is also open to designers or anyone who is interested in theatre.

Victor Craven has directed Voyager (London Symphony Orchestra, Barbican Hall & Granada Theater, Santa Barbara), Game Over (London Symphony Orchestra, Barbican Hall), The Habit of Art (Bridewell Theatre), Comic Potential (Theatro Technis), On Religion (Bridewell Theatre), Blackbird (Theatro Technis), A Chip in the Sugar, Her Big Chance, Bed Among the Lentils and A Lady of Letters (Landor Theatre), Lettice and Lovage, Ten Times Table, Relatively Speaking, Confusions, One For the Road, Habeas Corpus and Toad of Toad Hall.
