Exciting News – The Work to Install a Lift has Started!

The Tower is delighted to announce that it has secured funds from grants and donations to install a lift in the theatre building, and the first stage of work is under way.  The builders are now on site so you will find areas blocked off to keep the work site safe. Their first job is to demolish the small corner cubicles in the first floor and the ground floor Gents toilets.  They will then build a lift shaft from the basement upwards, widen the openings into the main building and fit out the lift lobbies. This work will take about 8 weeks and the contractor is aware that we have a working building with rehearsal and performances on most evenings. However, your understanding and co-operation is requested because there will inevitably be some noise and dust in the process.

The second stage is to install the lift itself (that’s to be done by a separate contractor).  There still a shortfall in the money to pay for this so now is your chance to make sure that we can finish things off properly.  We’d be delighted to receive your contributions : please contact the Tower Office (or just drop them a cheque!).
