Dom Ward succeeds Amanda Waggott
The Tower Theatre is thrilled to announce that Dom Ward will be taking on the role of Artistic Director for the 2027-2030 period, succeeding Amanda Waggott who has held the post for the last three years.
Dom has been a member of the Tower Theatre for over 20 years, during which time he has been a director, actor, assistant stage manager, set builder, costume designer, sound designer and technical operator, as well as serving on the Management Committee.
He brings a wealth of directorial experience to the role, having been responsible for a range of productions at the Tower Theatre from Loot to Coyote on a Fence to, most recently, the five-star revival of Flare Path.
As a performer, Dom has appeared in more than 40 roles with the Tower, SEDOS and in professional touring companies, with particular favourites being David in After the Dance (twice), Stanley in The Birthday Party and numerous wildly accented characters in The 39 Steps.
Dom says: “I am honoured to be leading the artistic team through the coming years. I learnt how to act and direct with this company, and I want to ensure the Tower remains a stand-out, volunteer-led theatre company, where members are able to put on top quality shows and have fun doing it.”
His team is completed by the appointment of three Assistant Artistic Directors: Azul Alysum, Holly Causer and Sorrel Brown.
The Company extends its gratitudes to Amanda Waggott and her Assistant team of Emma Cornford and Jonathan Reed, as they come to the end of their fantastic tenure.
